Great educational experience! I especially liked the bar down the street. They did a great job keeping it up. Go check it out!

It's a smaller building, so it can get crowded with all of the tourists. But the Rangers were very informative and there was still lots to see. There's more sites throughout town that are extensions of the site.

This was my second time visiting Skagway, and the main thing I wanted to do was to return to the Visitor Center and to visit the Gold Rush Museum. The story of the Gold Rush, the creative flow of the panels and exhibits mesmerized me me all over again. This museum makes great use of its space! If you are interested in history, you must stop by here when you visit Skagway. I guarantee that you will find it to be one of the top places to visit in this darling little historic town.

Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park is a cruise ship favorite. The streets of Skagway are lined with dozens of historic stores, saloons, and public buildings, many of which have been restored by the National Park Service. It was really interesting to explore.

Skagway is a place stuck in the Gold Rush. It has board walk streets and most of the town is a national historical preserve. They have passport stamps and stickers but they are in different buildings. We also enjoyed the free 25-minute video that explained the history of Skagway and the Gold Rush.

Some of the buildings in the park site were closed but overall we felt like NPS has done a FANTASTIC job of preserving and presenting the gold rush town of Skagway. Our favorite spot was the interactive museum right beside the visitor center. The overall highlight was hiking the first 4 miles of the Chilkoot trail about 20 minutes out of town in Dyea. Don’t miss it!
