I visited midwest eye for an appt after a few years, dreading to hear what was next as last time i was recommended progressive trifocals, which can be challenging when walking on uneven terrain, stairs, etc. I saw Dr Laycock. What a pleasant experience!! From the gal that did my preliminary tests to when the doc came in. She is closer to my age and she was thorough, kind, showed understanding and compassion as she listened to my concerns. She was funny and witty while being completely professional. My dread about going to the eye doc has been completely absolved! The gal that checks the patients out at the end of your visit, she is so nice, beautiful smile and very helpful! Thank you Midwest eye in Rochester!! Appreciate your staff going the extra mile to make me feel at ease, even enjoy my visit!

Would not recommend Midwest Eye in Rochester. The doctor was very good but others along the process were not. Was told my glasses would be in in a week and two at the latest. It is four and a half weeks later and I still have no glasses. When I called was told it was out of their control and they are still at the hub in Wabash. They had no trouble taking a large sum of money or day one, but not following through with product. Will not be going back there for any future eye needs or telling other people to do the same.

Great with getting my glasses replaced but the miscommunication about my insurance not covering the recommended contacts until the day of my appointment was a little disheartening.

Husband went in for an eye exam. Doctor was amazing, but the front desk staff is beyond rude. It seems they go out of their way to be rude. Insurance lady was nice. He went back to get new lenses put into his frames. Lady at front desk was so rude he walked out. You can't get the supervisor at the store, district manager or corporate to call you back.

So my family have been using Midwest Eye Care for to long to mention. I called in today and explained that we no longer have insurance but we would pay out of pocket if she would bill me. We need to do that so my husband can move money from his 401 K. We have literally paid this place thousands and have sent a number of new patients to them. Anyway she co.es back on and said it had to be paid today. I seriously could not believe it. They have always been paid. Nice job!!! I will take our business elsewhere and so will the rest of my family.

Have no complaints about the medical side of the practice. The doctor we saw has relocated, so I can't comment on the current one. Was sad to see him go because he was great with my 6 year old. Whatever lab they use for glasses, however, is awful. I've been wearing glasses since the 80s and never had any of these issues. I believe it took 3 attempts at getting the lenses right so it didn't feel like I was looking through a fish bowl. Ended up being told it was due to being polycarbonate lenses, which I've had numerous times before, so I had to settle for plastic. Then another 2 more tries where 1 lense was loose in the frames. And every trip is over 20 miles away. Now I've got glasses that are hurting both ears and giving me headaches, but I'm done. I can tell the optical staff is annoyed every time I come back.
