Unfortunately, our recent visit to 1916 was very disappointing. I had been here last year with my teammates and remembered a much better experience, so this was unexpected.

We had a party of six on a Sunday night—nothing too large or unmanageable. We made a reservation, but it turns out we didn’t even need one since the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. There were plenty of open tables, so it should have been a smooth evening.

Despite that, it took a long time for our order to be taken, and even longer for the food to come out. We had finished our waters and drinks well before our appetizers even arrived, and we barely saw our server the entire time. One of our meals didn’t come out at all, and we had to wait even longer for that—along with having to ask multiple times just to get our waters refilled.

The chicken Caesar salad was actually very good, but I also ordered the soup of the day (a tomato bisque), and no spoon was brought out with it—so I had to eat it with a fork. It might sound minor, but it really reflects the lack of attention to detail throughout the evening.

It was just really disappointing, especially considering how great the view is and how nice the space could be for a night out. The setting deserves better service and a more attentive experience.

I came here today to celebrate St. Patrick’s day. The place was beautiful and the ambiance perfect. We tried several dishes and all were delicious. Of course we had some Irish ☘️ drinks to have with the food. I definitely recommend this place. I will be back soon! Thanks!

The food was wonderful. My partner got the short rib which he loved and I got the Ruben which was good other than the bread could of been better, it was really too toasted around the edge but the inside was delicious. Our server was great, it was her first night and she did an outstanding job. The atmosphere was lovely, tables could of used some extra wipes but I understand outdoors and pollen in Florida is tough to manage. The view was great, the music was good had we of not came when he was taking a break I feel like I would of really enjoyed it more. He played two songs while we were there and they were both great. We will be back for sure, loved the experience and look forward to our return with other couples.

Perfect spot for any time of day, and any type of weather. They have inside and outside seating. The service is outstanding. Props to the kitchen staff. Food is delicious. Highly recommend 🥰

Great venue featuring casual dining, with daily specials, up to formal banquets. Plenty of ice cold drink selections and staff that's polite, pleasant and professional. Beautiful views of the golf course.

I had a great experience at this time place as it was my first time in Lakeland and decided to check it I and my boyfriend searched and found it since he knows I am from the island he knew I will like it because it's a Louisiana restaurant. The server was very nice and honest I like her reaction went above and beyond, I didn't remember her name she was so sweet. I ordered me a salmon, but I wish I asked well done it didn't cook well at all I brought it home to re-cook. Overall the service was nice.
