My husband and I came here on Valentine’s Day with two other couples. We stopped in for a snack and a drink. We sat down immediately and were greeted pretty quickly. We ordered chicken tacos and chips and salsa. Both were pretty tasty. We each had a drink, but our server never came back to see if we wanted another drink. We enjoyed the music on TouchTunes.

Cool place! Went on st Patrick’s day so we didnt get to really experience it. But nice, clean, and staff was really friendly

Amazing atmosphere if you love American crowd cheering for sports 🙂 service is great, beer is cold. Great pub to spend weekend with friends!

We always stop in here multiple times when we are in Chicago visiting family. We even chose our hotel close by so it would easy to walk back after dinner several days. We haven't been in a couple years but it has changed. The food and drinks used to be reasonable priced but our beers were more expensive than the rooftop bar at our hotel that has a fancy dress code. We got a 10inch (I think) pepperoni pizza for $24. It used to be amazing pizza, but it was just meh. When we have always been before it was packed, but only 2 other people were in the place which says a lot about the quality now. The bartender was very friendly and told us the place has new owners. Definitely not a change for the better. He is the only reason this place deserves a one star. If not for him, it would have deserved zero stars.

Bouncer here is absolutely awful (pictured with phone in hand). 2nd attempt going into this bar and 2nd time not allowed in due to them saying one person in our group was “stumbling”. Which was a blatant lie. They gave the same exact reason 5 years ago. I think they just are very unhappy and like to deny people who are seemingly joyful. Would not recommend wasting your time!!! Brought our money to other businesses that were happy to take it.

Had high hopes for this place. Walked in and it had an older musty smell that kinda through me off. Ordered chips and Salsa, 2 cokes and 2 grilled cheese with bacon when we walked in. We had around 35 min to eat and go. The bar was maybe 1/4 occupied if that. Drinks and chips came out right away at about the 30 min mark we asked about the grill cheese they said 2 more Min, then at the 36 minute mark me asked again and said they would be another 5 min. We couldn’t wait any longer and had to leave. They took the grill cheese off the bill, but still we waiting over 30 min for a grill cheese something quick and easy.

Looking at reviews and photos, I'll let you know right now my experience was more limited to St. Patrick's Day weekend. If you're trying to find a place to go on a regular night, skip my review. If you're looking to go here during a big event, read on.

We came into Mother Hubbard's after Theory closed early. I had zero expectations before walking in, but what I experienced walking through the door was like something out of a college frat movie. It was shoulder-to-shoulder early 20s crowd, so dense and deep the main bar was invisible. I actually didn't realize there was a main bar until we were about to leave. Along the left side of the room was the clogged arterial movement of people bumping and grinding back and forth from the back relief bar and the front door. Swept away with the crowd, we pushed in to the relief bar and ordered. Those poor women behind the counter were getting slammed, looking like desperate liquid DJ's in the world's worst boiler room rave. While waiting we thankfully met a delightful British couple and found a nook to tuck into. The music was so loud we were screaming the entire night, which is to be expected, but given the environment it made it exponentially harder to socialize. Not a good place to go to meet new people. A couple people in our group went to the bathrooms and said they were some of the worst they'd ever seen in public in their lives. Wouldn't recommend going to this place during any big city events.

I would like to try this place again during a normal night.

Only had the fries so don’t want to speak to much on the food, but they were good and a good sized order me and the wife shared, both had 4-5 drinks me draft(miller) cheap and her angry orchards. $62 not bad at all compared to the places around from the day I’ve spent in the city, Service was great, waitresses name was T, super nice, respectful and just great overall. Experience was great, so much so that this is my first review ever.
