I loved reading The Love Way Home. As someone who grew up in Arkansas, I related to the mischief, the shenanigans, the dumb stuff we did growing up. Dumb, exciting things. Reading the other reviews it seems as though I'm not the only one who felt pulled to the biographical feel of the book. I loved the book, and I'm excited to read more from author Peyton Rose.

The author has the unambivlant propensity to catalyze a romantic prose of indefatigable readability. "The Long Way Home" wears like a biography with its identifiable ease of inward chums peregrinating one day at a time through the baptism by fire, otherwise known quite simply as life. The author communes with the privileged reader. Bottom line: It's a damn good book.

The boy is talented. The "Novel" is really a thinly veiled --yet beautifully over dramatic in a well-done literary poetic license way--autobiography of one of the more unique humans I've ever met in my life. A fearless kid, blessed with an elite talent to play basketball at the highest levels in the country that opened up doors for him, very few get to see in life. The author, er I mean the book's potagonist, not only had a unreal journey in life growing up in the South... but also has the rare ability to write a compelling novel about it.

Very raw book that shows signs of absolute brilliance; If a reader wants to know & truly experience what Patterson Hood of the band The Drive-By Truckers famously coined "the duality of the South" (its beautiful complications both good and bad and every wild thing in between). THEN, I highly recommend 'The Long Way Home.' A book of hilarity, honest admissions of big mistakes & big adventures told through his past voice, but penned by a now mature self-deprecating and grateful author.

Go buy the Long Way Home. A tale of great misadventures, mistakes made and not made, and the choices we all have to make growing up that can change one's entire destiny.

AND yet at its core, the novel is a love song to Little Rock Central Highschool, growing up in the state of Arkansas... and a poignant tale of the Long Way Home that most of us have to take to reach adulthood.

Reading the Long Way Home was exciting, funny, frightening, adventurous and loving. I found myself enthralled in the adventures, trials and tribulations of the young comrades. It is a must read!!!
