APU and Alaska in general are really special places, and I would like to possibly do an MBA here.

I mean look at the other pictures of this place throughout the year, especially in the fall! So beautiful!

I've never been to Alaska as of 2024, but coming from Florida and doing undergrad in Colorado, I have always wanted to visit or even live in Alaska. It's definitely one of my favorite states! So I believe that doing grad school here will help me make that decision for myself.

Update: One positive thing about this University is that they read their ratings. About a month or two months after I posted this, APU finally added their school onto Army Ignite. I still wouldn't recommend it to anyone that's in the military due to their expensive tuition and the lack of experienced VA workers.

If you’re in the military (especially in the Army) then save your time.

I heard great things about APU, hence why I applied to go here for the Spring semester of 2022. I’m in the Army and use Army Ignite to pay for my courses. The VA department knew that they needed to upload files to have APU available on Army Ignite and failed to so. Not to mention that this school charges around $4k a course, so you would have to be responsible to pay for some of it out of pocket. I was working on resolving this issue for A MONTH. Had I known it was going to be like this, I would’ve went to UAA.

In conclusion, save your time/money.

I graduated from APU in 2014 with my Bachelor's in Earth Science. I was beneficial enough to "stumble" across the university during my university search shortly after high school. Coming from a small town in northwest Georgia I was worried about traveling across the country and attending a small liberal arts school in Alaska, but after arriving the residence life staff and the university were beyond welcoming. The school offers "active learning" courses that give students a perspective to learning that goes beyond the confines of a classroom. During my studies, I was able to study earth science first hand from the volcanoes on the big island of Hawaii or the gold mines of Alaska. I would highly recommend the university to any perspective student that wants an active learning experience and true faculty engagement.

LOVE LOVE ! Extremely hygienic! Clean atmosphere, overall general hospitality and always an experience worth my patients!
Overall probably the best area for my obgyn to be stationed. Lots of medical clinics in this area.

After spending 4 years at University of Alaska in various campuses, I am in love with Alaska Pacific's teaching style. UAA was frustrating because I felt like I was just cramming junk into my head to pass, which I did and stayed on dean's list while raising a family and working. APU teaches me not how to pass a test, but how to apply what I have learned to real world experiences that will help me in my career. The teachers double as mentors and WANT you to come to them.

I give it 4 stars just because while enrollment was initially fast, it gave way to confusion because it went through too fast. Required items on my end were not met and they waived them to get me into the semester. This was not adequately communicated to me and set me back the next semester in that the items needed to be met or I could not continue. Unfortunately by the time I knew what was going on fully, it was too late for me to enroll in classes for that semester.

All in all, I have WAY more gripes about UAA than I do about APU despite my one (frustrating) experience.
