I joined the Global Grant Writers Collective in 2020, shortly after finishing my undergraduate degree. I wasn’t even sure if grant writing was the right path for me, but I knew I wanted to learn more and see where it could lead.

Five years later, I’ve built a multi-six-figure business, and I truly don’t think I could’ve done it without the Collective. Meredith, Alex, and the team have taught me so much-- Not just about grants, budgets, and project management, but also how to build a business, manage clients, grow a team, and navigate all the things. Another great part of the Collective is having a group of fellow grant writers to learn from and bounce ideas off of!

1000000000% the Collective has been one of the best investments I’ve made for me professionally and personally!

Learn Grant Writing deserves the highest praise I can offer. Without hesitation, I can say it has been the most valuable investment I've ever made in my personal and professional development. During the pandemic, I found myself at a crossroads, recognizing how little control I had over my circumstances. This realization prompted me to seek a meaningful career shift. Previously, I worked as a designer in corporate America—an industry I enjoyed for its creative aspects but grew to dislike overall. After deep reflection, I concluded that my skills and experience aligned perfectly with the nonprofit sector, where I believed I could make a significant impact.

Having served on nonprofit boards, I understood that grant writers are often the critical factor in securing funding for an organization. I also recognized that a reactive, last-minute approach to grant applications is costly and less effective than having a strategic plan in place. However, I lacked the expertise to position myself as a grant writer—until I discovered Learn Grant Writing. Meredith and Alex not only met my expectations but exceeded them. Their course enhanced my existing skills in marketing, strategy, branding, storytelling, and design, elevating them to a level I hadn’t imagined possible. It allowed me to operate within my zone of excellence.

This program is far more than just a course—it’s a supportive community. It provides a strong foundation in grant writing fundamentals, real-time assistance, and personalized coaching. The value it delivers far exceeds its cost. I can’t recommend Learn Grant Writing highly enough!

I joined The Global Grant Writers Collective, founded by Meredith Noble and Alex Lustig, over a year ago. I am an in-house grant writer and administrator and have been for over ten years. You might think I know it all, right? Wrong.

After lengthy research, I joined the Collective to gain knowledge and learn skills necessary to operate outside my specific niche. Following the simple yet detailed video training modules and completing the exercises all but guarantees success in skills and confidence.

As with any degree plan, training or certification, there no financial guarantee, but when you complete the program you will be best equipped to interview for an in-house grant position, partner with the Collective on projects, and/or continue as a freelance grant professional.

The Collective is a supportive and transformative force in the world of grant writing. Their exceptional training programs and vibrant community of members are not only embracing professional skills but also making a profound global impact. Being a member has greatly enhanced my confidence and skill level.

They have created an environment, regardless of experience or level of skill, where grant writers learn, thrive, connect, and collaborate. The training provided is comprehensive, practical, and tailored to meet the diverse needs of grant writers at all levels.

It is more than a training platform, it is a catalyst for global change and provides a solid community of authentic and intentions members to partner with. Their mission, vision, and determination are making a lasting impactful difference in its members, and across the globe.

I was exploring transitioning into a career in grant writing, but I had very little experience and wasn't sure how to approach it. After reading Meredith Noble's excellent book, and lurking on their site for about a month, I signed up for the year and it was a game changer. I've since started my own consulting firm, NetBridge Communities LLC, have expanded from grant writing into overall business, market, and over strategy and planning. I couldn't have done it without Learn Grant Writing's help. The ROI after 12 months was huge. I am still a member two years later.

EDIT: I just read a two-star review from a fellow LGW member that started out "NOT RECOMMENDED for freelancers without established grant clients," and I can't disagree more strongly with her . Her two specific reasons were: 1) the training does not spell out how to look for clients most likely to need a grant writer, and 2) you could be an accomplished writer but unless you’re good at selling your skills, this program will not work for you. There are two specific tracks for freelancers and permanently employed grant writers to take. For freelancers, there is training, tools and resources to help you gain new clients. For clients, there is training, tools and resources for getting a permanent grant writing job. You don't have to overly sell your accomplished writing skills. You have to convince them that 1) the LGW approach (Funding strategy=>Grant Writing) is the way to go). They train you on all of that. Please read that review with a grain of salt, and if you do read it, read Meredith's excellent reply carefully.

Great organization with resources to help at multiple stages of one's career.

Like many, I got started after reading Meredith's book, which I found to be a great read. You'll get a copy of the book when you join, but I still think it's worthwhile to read it first to get a sense of what you will learn. The coursework has videos that go into detail about all of the steps, with extra emphasis added to the funding strategy approach that I think is one of the hallmarks of the program. That's what you can expect if you're just starting out.

If you are an existing grant writer, there are additional stages after you cover the original material to help you grow your business. I feel the emphasis is for freelancing, though I know a number of staff grant writers are in the program and I imagine it provides them with some benefit.

There's a lot of additional training covering a wide range of topics, which I found to be good, as well as a whole program devoted to improving your writing. Finally, the members of the collective are a great resource for just about any situation you might encounter.

Overall, joining the collective is a financial commitment, but I think it provides you with the education and support to get a lot of personal growth if you put in the work.

Joining the Global Grant Writers (Unicorn) Collective was one of the best investments I have made! The community is incredibly supportive, and the program is designed to help you gain real skills quickly. Thanks to a pilot program, I earned my grant writing certificate in just four months, which gave me the confidence to take on projects right away. If you are looking for a welcoming space to learn, grow, and break into grant writing, I cannot recommend it enough!

The Learn Grant Writing experience has been life changing. Not only is the grant writing community incredibly supportive and engaging, but the LGW course is the best grant writing course available in the market; full of templates, expert advice, and valuable resources. I built a successful part-time consultancy using their model and am on the way to making nearly six figures (yes part time!). I highly recommend Learn Grant Writing if you are considering jumping into the world of grants.
