I had the honor and privilege of attending a Crucial Conversations for Mastering Dialogue course and trainer certification last week in Raleigh, NC. I've attended many courses, trainings, and workshops over the course of my 20+ year career, but this was by far one of the best! The content, resources, and tools provided were incredibly helpful. I look forward to rolling out this training across our organization in the new year to help build a culture where tough conversations lead to stronger connections!

Having that tough and needed conversation is hard. How do I start, how can I focus on solutions vs. emotions? How can it be mutually beneficial with a happy ending? This course gives you aids and practice with this to make teams more successful.

I really enjoyed the training experience offered here. The training was relevant and I was able to learn new ideas and concept to apply to my work. I know that it will take some courage and practice to use them consistently but I'm excited to see where I can go with them.

I first heard about Crucial Learning through a group therapy session. The counselors used the principals in the book to direct us to be "clear" and "kind" in our communication. I was really impressed with their curriculum and began to research more. I then found out that many successful businesses (including a large dental organization that I admire) uses Crucial Conversations in their management leadership program. I was sold! Not only does this curriculum have real-world application for counseling rooms, treatment centers, and life coaches, but it also has MANY benefits for professional organizations. I used my continuing education budget to buy the book, Crucial Conversations, and I am a faithful reader of their weekly emails. I have not taken the courses yet, but from what I have seen their work is spot-on!

Also, just a personal anecdote... I was going through a really rough time with a co-worker of mine. We had a huge falling out and our higher ups intervened and sat us down in a room together to talk it out. She really hated me. I crammed the night before reading Crucial Conversations and went into that dialogue with the skills I had learned. As a result, my coworker, who had started off the meeting "guns a blazing", slowly softened over the course of the meeting. The "mutual purpose" concept was what I started with. I clarified "what I did and did not mean". By the end of the meeting, she gave me a hug. Since then, we have had zero issues. Wow! I have shared this story with many people, and they all have asked me to send them a link to that book.

Keep up the great work! You guys are really helping work places and those struggling in their personal lives to start new relational paths!

Reading Crucial Conversations back in 2008 changed my life and started me on the path of conflict resolution. Influencer, Crucial Accountability, all the blogs and videos from Joseph Grenny, Kerry Patterson, David Maxfield, Emily Gregory and the rest of the time have continued to inspire and instruct me. I continually share these with people, who like me find them incredibly useful. This is a must read book to make your life easier.
