I was so disappointed. Corned beef was tough. I had to pick out pieces to find ones that I could eat. The fries were good Called the restaurant and they said they would tell the chef. I wasn't expecting a refund but even if they said. Come get an appetizer or dessert on us. At least I would have felt like a valued customer.

The food was not good at all. It’s probably best to stick to basic bar type food here. Ex burgers and fries. The lamb tasted like plastic and had little flavor and the pasta was too oily and was not good at all. We ended up just having 2-3 bites and then going to Velvet Taco next door. It was a waste of money but we couldn’t eat it.

Again, probably just basic bar food is ok here not anything else. The lamb was supposed to be one of their specialties which was unfortunate

When I say this place is better than many STEAK HOUSES that is what I mean!!! The oyster Rockefeller are PERFECT!!!!!!! Again better than you many restaurants!!! The spinach dip is perfect!!!!!! The strip steak is cooked perfectly!!!!! The lamb kabobs are to die for!!!!!!!! I always order a side of grilled shrimp with my meals and they never disappoint!!!!! The chicken and pasta..:. Why didn’t I find out about this years ago!!!!!!!!! It’s to the point that I live in the south suburbs and will drive downtown to eat dublins any time! Not only do I sit and dine in but I take a carry out order too so I can have lunch the next day!!!!!!!!!! Yes they have been cracking down on gym shoes but I’m glad. I never have to wait more than 5 minutes for a table! The waiters and waitresses are not rude. They are just dealing with a much of after work hours drunks! They know their jobs and do it well!!!!!!!

Firstly, I had planned to order the lamb shank, but unfortunately, it was unavailable. I then inquired about the stew, and the server suggested the beef and cabbage. Regrettably, the dish was poorly prepared; it was rubbery and nearly impossible to cut.

When I raised my concerns, the manager, Mo, approached me with a rather aggressive demeanor. Despite my polite inquiry about my options, he insisted that I had to eat the undercooked beef. He can’t help. In any other Chicago restaurant, they would have replace the food or Cook it more.

I believe a change in management may be necessary to improve customer service
Mo is not fit for his role

What happened to Dublin’s?

This used to be my go-to casual spot for good food, wine, and service. It had been a while since my last visit—life got busy after having a baby—but I was so excited to return for an afternoon out with a friend. Unfortunately, the experience completely ruined my rare day out.

First, they no longer have a real wine selection—just basic house options for red, white, and rosĂ©. Our waitress couldn’t provide any details beyond that. We decided on a bottle of rosĂ©, but as we poured it, we realized it was a low-calorie, low-alcohol version. That’s not what we wanted. When we told them we didn’t want it, they argued that because the bottle was open, they couldn’t do anything. But we had tried to ask questions before ordering, and our waitress was no help.

Eventually, they agreed to swap it for a bottle of red. However, the waitress simply placed the bottle on the table and walked away—we still had our small pours of rosĂ© but no clean glasses. We waited, but no one came. After a while, we just drank the little bit of rosĂ© left in our glasses and poured the red ourselves.

The food was decent, and we were enjoying our afternoon—until the check arrived. We were shocked to see that we were being charged for the glasses of rosĂ©. When we pointed out that we never received clean glasses, the manager came over and told us he had watched us finish the rosĂ©. So, he knew we swapped the bottle but still chose to watch us drink from our old glasses instead of bringing new ones? After going back and forth, they refused to remove the charge.

We asked to speak to someone else, and they told us to call or come in on Monday because they don’t like to bother the GM on weekends—apparently, he only works Monday through Thursday. A general manager of a busy Gold Coast restaurant who doesn’t work weekends? Really?

I’m so disappointed. Dublin’s used to be a place I loved and frequently recommended—I even work in the neighborhood. But after this experience? Never again.
