Hilaman is possibly the best municipal course you will ever play. The last few years have been transformative. The course is upgraded and well maintain. The staff are genuinely interested in helping payers enjoy the course.

I played Hlaman often many years ago, but my recent visits have been delightful, with all the improvements and changes, it is now well worth the trip. A peaceful gem inside the city. Played the other day with my son, and want to play more often. Spoke to the Pro (I think her name was Jan), and asked about a Beginner League. Hope they restart something like that again soon.

I liked the course a lot. Not a dull hole on the course. A hilly course, especially for Florida. Conditions were fine from tee to green. The staff was friendly. The thing that bothered me was the cart and yardages. The carts have GPS “light”. You can see where you are on the hole, but there is no yardage. You have to figure it out with the 150 marker or spots painted on the fairways. And there did not appear to be a ranger. The play was very slow.

Pleasantly surprised. The course is maintained better than some private courses. It is a very forgiving course and enjoyable. The clubhouse and patio are under construction, but everyone is vey friendly and helpful.
They do need to put of signage to direct players to the holes. The directions can be a bit complicated and there are no signs directing new players which can create a little confusion

Pace of play is awful. Worst I’ve ever experienced. Twice I’ve teed off for twilight golf and I haven’t been able to finish my round. They just let anybody play. Groups of 5, guys in blue jeans and boots and they won’t let you play through. It shouldn’t take 5-6 hours to play 18 holes. I’ve been to multiple other courses that are busy as it gets and I finish in 3 hours or so. The Marshal does nothing but sit there in his cart at the clubhouse. I do enjoy the course and the layout but I will not be back. The pace of play just ruins it. If you want to finish 18 holes I recommend going to the other courses in Tallahassee.

The back 9 are quite worth the price of playing. Really nice course and well maintained. The food on the 19th is really great as well.

Played here early October and loved the course. Is it perfect? Of course not, but the greens all rolled beautifully and quick. For $25 on a Friday morning you will not find a better value.
