I wanted to start branching out too B&W fine art prints that are digital conversions and they are quite different than the color production I had been doing. I asked a friend David Brookover who is an amazingly successful as a B&W specialist, who he would recommend for B&W production because it does require special printers and papers, but more importantly B&W production techs; David recommended Jen Freehill at Photo Craft Imaging. Jen has been an amazing counselor for this B&W novice with invaluable critique who isn’t afraid to send me back to the post production drawing board likely knowing Photo Craft Imaging won’t make money on the first print because of consulting time involved, but knowing or hoping reprints resulting quality product will follow. I can’t recommend this outfit enough and will likely start doing my color production here as well.

When I first viewed the quality of a lightJet print, I knew that I needed to find a great print house - my search lead me to Photo Craft. As a Seattle based photographer the proofing process was one of my biggest concerns, but Jen Freehill has been instrumental in bridging that gap. Working with Jen has been great, her knowledge & understanding of the process has led to images that have exceeded my expectations. Jason's work with the acrylic mounting and finishing has again exceeded my expectations, which is not easy in that most of my pieces are very large and my discerning clients see everything. Lastly, my work needs to be shipped and John always does an amazing job of getting the piece to me unscathed - not an easy feat!
I cannot tell you how nice it is to find a company that puts as much effort and pride into their work as I do!

I wish I didn't have to give any star at all. I've long taken digital photos, across all 7 continents, but never printed them to my satisfaction.

First, it took *months* to get any time to sit down with anyone at Photo Craft, they regularly failed to follow up, and Jen was a half hour late for the meeting we scheduled *at their office.*

"Oh, sorry, I was eating lunch."

Whatever your view on the quality of my photography, I expected at least professionalism from Jen who was rude, dismissive and said that my work would print "horribly." She showed me several printed works of the types of artists they "usually" work with. She agreed to print 3 photos that she felt were "OK" and to call me when they were ready, so that I could get them before my trip to Galápagos... in June. Predictably, I've still heard nothing. Right. 7 months. She didn't respond to my follow up e-mails. Nothing.

I have had decent results from online printers, but I wanted to create top-quality prints, as I was able to do myself when I printed black and white. It was really important to me, though, to do business with a local company, and someone that could help me understand the requirements of digital printing and how to get the best results, especially since I am new to it. Jen is obviously used to dealing with "professional photographers" and has no interest in helping out an aspiring artist who is more than willing to pay as much as the "professionals."

My treatment there not only ensured that I'd never darken their doorway again but also left me feeling really bad about the quality of my work.
