The Pippin is a quiet place where you can enjoy a good beer. The selection is truly extensive. The central location in Chicago is excellent.

The only downside: we witnessed a discussion between the bartenders, which led to inattentive and rushed service from the bartender who served us.

We went for brunch and had the burger. It was very nice. The service was attentive, and the burger was average. The Parmesan truffle fries were great, but it was just an average, run of the mill restaurant. There’s nothing wrong with it, but there’s nothing that puts it ahead of the crowd, either. You can certainly eat here, but there are better choices. And there are worse choices. Catch my drift? October 20, 2024. Oh, soda refills were free.

Stopped here for a pint and rest our feet, they had a fantastic drink & appetizer happy hour going so we ended up staying longer than anticipated. The service was excellent and food was fantastic.

Nice place with really good service. Not that good for vegetarians. The Mushroom burger is okay. Would prefer a plant based Patty option. Truffle Fries are nice. Chips are homemade!

If you're vegetarian, only go if you're in a group that wants an upscale tavern experience..

Amazing time. Immaculate vibes. We happen to go on the 50th anniversary and got a free Guinness with our picture on it. Caesar was literally the best we both have ever had and drinks were amazing. Was visiting Chicago for one day and we are so glad we found this spot. We swore we go back there every time we’re in the city.
Sincerely regret not getting the crab cake but looking forward to it next time. Lots of love to this place❤️

The hostess and the server were both incredibly friendly and helpful. The interior is beautiful but we sat outside because the weather was wonderful. I had the Irish dip with fries and they were fantastic. My husband had the waffles with strawberries and whipped cream and he said they were delicious. I highly recommend stopping in. We hope to swing by for dinner sometime.

A very strange evening here. We were sat at the bar, however in some bar stools that had a large plastic screen between the patrons and the bartenders. This was a clear plastic screen, but it didn't seem to matter. Sitting in front of that screen essentially makes you be completed ignored by the bar staff. We were not offered drinks or food. We asked for menus several times before they were dropped off, and then it took several more minutes to be able to tell anybody what we wanted to order.

When the food was dropped off no silverware was given, despite it being food that would be totally impossible to eat with fingers. We failed to get a bartender to see us asking for silverware at all and a nearby table took pity on us and have us some unused silverware.

Certainly no offers of a second drink or any more food, despite having ordered appetizers and telling the bartender at that time that we would definitely be ordering more food after our appetizers and first drink.

Obviously we gave up after the first drink. Walked to a different area of the bar to say we needed to pay and we left. A waste of an hour and the money we spent there. It's a shame as the food actually tasted decent but it was just not possible to order food or eat it when it arrived without each stage taking 15-20 minutes of work
