PUCO refuses to do anything when AEP will not allow a customer to opt out of a smart meter. They stated that AEP is allowed to stall removing a meter as long as they would like because the PUCO does not regulate their policies. What good does it do to have a law that AEP does not have to abide by. Anyone wanting these smart meters removed be prepared for AEP to try repeatedly to convince you to keep it and when you still want to opt out of it, they will just forced you to keep it. Look at who AEPs 3 biggest stockholders are and you will understand why.

Called to open up a case with AES regarding the smart meters and the fact my usage has doubled since the smart meter was installed. I have lived in my home for 16 years and my usage did not double till the smart meter. I don’t think they are calculating usage correctly. They closed my case within 3 hours and sent a generic email response. There is no way they investigated anything to close a case that quickly. I don’t believe PUCO is regulating anything. They are letting these companies get away with robbing the consumers. Worthless organization!!

My public record of multiple recorded complaint phone calls deleted after just 8 months?

Do I need explain how disgusting that is for a regulatory body?

For them To claim to be for the people, while at the same time doing the absolute minimum to protect the public from the *utilities companies conducting business in predatory and illegal ways is just appalling . The towing regulating, training and law awareness needs major help. As well as the record keeping.

What would have been valuable evidence to have in my civil case was "automatically deleted" and Its been 8 months since I made the call.. to report an illegal towing company conducting illegal practices. most phone call retention policies are at the very least a year if not 2 . Yall make me sick

"Energy Choice is an option and opportunity. Not a mandate", these are the words emphasized on the state of Ohio website and Google. Enbridge Gas was advised I did not want a supplier billing me over a year ago. I was assured that was my choice and all good.

Without consent I come to find out I have Direct Energy Ohio on my billing (variable rate) SCO supplier they call themselves, charging my account monthly. When I tried removing the supplier I ran into all kinds of unwanted phone calls, emails, etc. Direct Energy Ohio refused to remove service, and Enbridge Gas did so as well. I was told either I pick a supplier or one will be assigned to my account with a rate that fluctuates monthly on the stock market.

Sounds as if the above quote regarding not being mandated is a farce. Sure, you have a choice of all kinds of companies offering rates and plans.... But either you pick one or one will picked for you without your acknowledgement. That makes the above statement false and misleading. Guess the state doesn't see it from this perspective, but maybe the federal government will? Oddly enough I happen to know that utility companies in America can bill you directly in your service for supply with a governed rate. Ohio seems to be exempt from this practice as I am further understanding. In Ohio you either choose a supplier or one gets forced on you without regard. That's the Energy Choice program folks!

I had a horrible experience with the one "investigator" that contacted me after my complaint. The woman I spoke to essentially said there was never anything wrong and no one had ever come to my house from first energy. This was directly in conflict with what first energy had told me so I called them back and they admitted to me there was an issue but a tech had come out to the property and the issue was resolved. The investigator was so wrong I might think that they had the wrong person but they asked for me by name. First Energy had jerked me around for a month and missed scheduled appointments and they still acted with more respect and integrity then the "investigator" assigned to my case. Don't bother calling these people its just going to be more headache.

After battling with Columbia gas, puco Chose to agree with them, I used $5.00 worth of gas and my bill is $59 ? Delivery fees, Dewine's choice of puco leadership is terrible. When do they actually fight for the customer, like they are supposed to? I don't mind paying for the delivery, to help with the infrastructure, but my god, multiply the amount of customers by the delivery cost, and their making a killing, eff puco and Dewine and his cronies

THEY DO NOT ACTUALLY DO ANYTHING TO HELP. I HAVE BEEN ON HOLD THIS ENTIRE DAY TRYING TO GET CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM THE ELECTRIC COMPANY THAT CHARGES ME $200 / MONTH AND REFUSES TO PROVIDE A HUMAN TO ANSWER THE PHONE - REFUSES TO PROVIDE ANY CUSTOMER SERVICE WHATSOEVER. THEY SHOULD HAVE TO PAY ME FOR MY TIME. WASTED TIME. NO HELP. THIS IS CORPORATE THEFT.
