Roots in Oneonta offers good food, though it’s not the greatest I’ve ever had. The dishes are simple, but sometimes that’s exactly what you’re looking for, and it works well here. The drinks, however, are amazing and definitely a highlight of the experience.

The service can be a bit sluggish at times, but overall, the staff is very kind and welcoming. The atmosphere is perfect for a casual night out with friends, offering a relaxed and comfortable setting.

I’ll definitely be coming back, as it’s a great spot for a laid-back evening with good food and excellent drinks!

Cozy, artist environs and wonderfully kind service. We dropped in on a Saturday not knowing that they were having a beer sampling day. We tried more than a dozen craft brews while hanging out. Five star experience.

An awesome, eclectic and welcoming spot! Great service, a great selection of beers (some on tap, lots of cans) and tasty food. They were also very accommodating for our picky kid (don't crisp the quesadilla) which was much appreciated. All in all, Roots Brewing is a great spot to relax and recharge and have some tasty suds. Highly recommended if in Oneonta!

Loved our trip there. It was an inviting space. The food was tasty and the staff was very friendly. All of the beer we sampled was good, and a couple were outstanding (you must try Joy on tap if you visit). We just missed a visit from one of the brewers when we were there and my guy wanted to shake his hand for creating such a delicious concoction. Definitely a must visit spot for a craft beer fan!

1. Roots has the absolute best beer cheese sauce I have ever consumed in my life. I first tried it quite a while ago, so during the roots hiatus, I was convinced I’d never be graced with such delicious beer cheese again. I am so delighted to be wrong. I do also enjoy their other food, I just have a weakness for that indulgent comfort food.
2. Roots has some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had! I can no longer drink beer, so I was relieved to see a full liquor menu, but I did not expect to be faced with such masterfully crafted cocktails. The mixologist has a talent for reinventing classic cocktails in a way that brightens and refreshes, but does not insult the original. I had a smoked rosemary Negroni sour recently that changed me. This cocktail was so excellently crafted I almost could not believe I had the privilege of consuming it in Oneonta, New York. (I am so sorry I didn’t center my glass on the napkin for the photo)

Met up with friends. The place is cute but has no ac, so it was very muggy inside. The food was great, except I can't do spice anymore, and my tacos had a bit of a kick to them. Service was awesome. All in all, we had a great time. They also made a deconstructed nacho plate for one of our friends' apon request. I do recommend it here, just not when it's humid out.
