They did an amazing job of making our whole group feel accommodated and taken care of. From Matt the GM taking time to say hello, to Molly getting us a room when our plane was cancelled, and the food & bev director letting us eat in the discovery room. Our experience and expectations were exceeded because they all took the time to help us out. Even Captain Chris & Bunker were AWESOME. We already booked for next year! What a great trip and experience!!!

Captain Conner was the absolute BEST! Taught both my wife and I things with fishing and the operation of the boat! Got us on the fish EVERYDAY (4 days) and limited out on fish 3 of the 4 days! Hopefully he is still there when we come back again. Did NOT have a negative experience with ANY of the staff and felt like everyone was truly happy that we were there! The restaurant (Timbers) was quite tasty and the staff truly took care of us (Wife and I). They have truly stepped up their game and believe that most people will not be disappointed. Extremely welcoming staff and they seem to really care about your patronage of the Resort.

This was an average tour but not worth the price. My wife and I were on a Viking cruise in September when we did this excursion. Very disorganized at the office and not sure where to put people. Planes were late coming in so we left very late. They tried to tell me at the last minute that I was a couple pounds over their weight limit and tried to get more money out of me. When we finally took off the views were great and pilot was informative. The lodge we went to was beautiful but the food was okay but not good for what we paid. We asked for no onions and they put onions on the salad. We asked for a new one and the guy was not happy about it. The vans were very late coming and we barely made back to the ship. Would I recommend this excursion, no.

Salmon Falls Resort has been an exceptionally gratifying experience. The accommodations, cuisine, and hospitality were all remarkable. Derek demonstrated extensive knowledge and worked diligently to ensure our success in catching a variety of fish, including the rare yellow eye snapper, which we responsibly released back into the sea. His adherence to fishing regulations was commendable. By choosing Derek as your guide, you can be confident in achieving a successful fishing expedition. I had the pleasure of embarking on this exceptional fishing trip with my son and a friend and his son. In addition to fishing, we engaged in hiking and were fortunate enough to witness the awe-inspiring Northern Lights. We undoubtedly intend to return for another memorable experience. Thank you for facilitating an enjoyable and unforgettable adventure.

Salmon Falls Resort was a fantastic spot to celebrate our 43rd anniversary. It was made so special by the people. From check in, to dining, to our fantastic Captian, Derek, to the airport transportation, and finally to check out. Very smooth start to finish and worth every penny.

Spent the day at SFR. We enjoyed a beautifully presented, fresh, wonderful breakfast buffet. Next was a successful morning of fishing, with Tony as our guide. He was amazing, and we caught our limit of Coho salmon, in no time at all! We stayed around long enough to enjoy a fantastic lunch, with an ice cold beer, and glass of wine, while overlooking the most amazing scenery on earth. It was a perfect day!

You cannot be the setting. The views are majestic. The dining lodge is a great venue and outdoor seating is great. The rooms are average and not in keeping with a top quality high end resort, which this aspires to. They are in need of upgrade and remodeling. But this is Ketchikan, where there is not alot of competition. Still for $300 a night, one should expect high end finishes, bathrooms, etc. which this is definitely not. Also the room is on the small side. But the staff is very nice and accommodating. We had a problem with noise from the restaurant (the music was playing all night long) but we complained and they turned off the music the next night). And the food was very good at the restaurant and service as well.

Great experience with some hiccups to beware...was planned as a "bucket list trip" which I always wanted to do with my son and a friend. Was hoping to give a stellar review but there was a few disappointments worthy enough to not do so. The location is great, facilities excellent, although rooms pretty average but quiet. The shuttle service drivers to and from airport were wonderful, restaurant with great menu selections to choose from in the all-inclusive package is great since you can try everything over your stay. The guided boat fishing was a lot of fun and we each caught enough to take 25 pounds of salmon each home - but beware that each captain is different and could affect your experience. They work hard to find the right spots where fish are biting and the high speed boats accommodating four fishermen each are fairly new and excellent for the team concept of capturing fish. We found the boat captains surly even when we informed them two of us were novice rookies. We paid for an added seaplane fly out fishing day for scenery and fly fishing which was cancelled on us the day before due to "warm weather" which was a major disappointment. Even though the office shuffled our schedule to add a separate ground fly fishing trip and claim will refund our extra charges, the operations staff is either very overwhelmed or unorganized as their communication skills are very poor. When you are paying premium prices the expectation would be the staff should be going out of their way to provide great customer service and ensure the experience is as promised. We found this lacking in much of the help which were seasonal employees and left impressions like they were there to just receive their summer paychecks and scared they were not going to receive their tips before heading home. We all felt management needs to instill a better friendly customer focused culture in ALL the staff focused on getting 5 star reviews for their tips! Am interested in going back to Alaska to fish again but just enough hesitation here to ensure next time I check out the competition more closely....although to be fair, it's hard to assess culture without being there. My tip is to look for responsiveness when you communicate with them. Do they follow up to your questions without having to be asked twice? Do they go out of your way to confirm your reservation with a human or just automated emails to make you feel like you picked the right spot? I spoke to the GM upon return and he was very professional and responsive about all my feedback. That goes a long way to instill more confidence he will fix this.
