She was so detailed in her virtual showings and answered every strange question we asked (like, how does it really smell in there). She helped us with finding a reputable home inspector, contractors upon arrival, and was extremely generous with her local knowledge once we arrived. We felt like we could text with any small question and we’d get a clear, detailed response quickly! Would absolutely recommend her. She did a thorough price review and made a great price suggestion that resulted in us getting multiple offers and accepting one that ended up above the appraised value. We had to leave town before the re-inspection and she took care of all the loose ends for us after we left town: final walk-through and cleaning of the house, forwarding mail, and arranging for final repairs. It was very comforting knowing she was taking care of everything when we couldn't be around. Jocelyn Miles is a phenomenal realtor. My partner and I started working with Jocelyn Miles in late October, early November 2019 (purchased our home early December 2019). Having never purchased a home before, we were completely lost. We spent a few weeks having realtor after realtor show us properties without having one of our own; until we went to Southeast Alaska Real Estate.

Having two large dogs, we knew finding a rental for the four of us would be a feat in and of itself. Family had suggested that we should buy a mobile home as our first home as they typically run cheaper and can be paid off more quickly. We had met with Karen Wright regarding a mobile home she was representing and she referred us to Jocelyn Miles, calling her the “trailer queen” (as she had sold more than anyone in Southeast Alaska Real Estate). We were so excited that Karen had taken the time to listen to us and refer us to someone she thought would be a good fit – and boy-oh-boy was she right!

Jocelyn Miles was more than happy to work with us as first-time home buyers and amplified the excitement we were both feeling. She took us to a few different mobile homes and listened to our questions, comments, compliments, and concerns about every property we went to. After looking at about 3-5 different homes with Jocelyn, she asked if we had thought about purchasing a half of a duplex or even a single-family home. We hadn’t – it literally hadn’t even crossed our mind. She started looking immediately, sending us multiple emails of properties we might be interested in based on the needs our small family had. She was able to figure out what we were looking for (even when we didn’t know), she was flexible with her hours to ensure we had the opportunity to spend time in the houses we were looking at, and she made the entire process less stressful by being knowledgeable, kind, and humorous.

The first day we visited our now home, it was a rough day for both my partner and myself. The winter was absolutely getting to us and it had been raining pretty hard. We walked around the house with our thoughts somewhere completely different. We explained to Jocelyn we would let her know our decision. A few days had passed and we called her to ask if she would come back out to the house so we could take peek again – and again – she was happy to make the time and come out and let us back in. We loved it. We explained to her what happened the first time and she was kind and understanding. She was excited that she was able to help us find our first-ever home.

So began the process of actually purchasing the home that she found for us. Jocelyn Miles was literally a super star. She worked hard to make sure that my partner and myself were well informed throughout the entire home buying process. She impressed us by reaching out to us even on days that they weren’t waiting on us for documentation. Any time we had a question, she would happily answer it, and if she didn’t know the answer – she found it.

Buying a first home can be a scary, even daunting task, but she not only made it less painful, but her personality made it incredibly fun. I am genuinely happy every time I see her, because she was an integral part of our first home buying experience. You will be in incredible hands with Jocelyn Miles, and I highly recommend her for any of your home purchasing needs.

Kake is a tiny community and I am giving 5 stars due to the response I received from the owner after my original review, She was kind enough to help out as much as possible. Much appreciated. So hard to find a home here on the island and definitely not easy for a real estate agent to get the info.
