I had attended a cooking class at Sur La Table in Centennial and had an amazing experience, so I booked a second time at the Boulder location. It was very disappointing…

After 2 hours cooking then didn’t even have chairs for us to sit to eat like the centennial location did, AND the food was very cold and undercooked. The soufflé looks great but none of us could eat it, it was SL undercooked!

I will not be back at this a location, unfortunately.

Chef Cameron was fantastic! He taught us how to make tempura shrimp rolls, spicy tuna rolls and veggie rolls. He was fantastic and our sushi turned out phenomenal!

We had a day date here making Korean bbq. We had such a good time. And our instructor Kristen was great. I was a bit nervous at first cooking with a small class, but she made it super easy peasy and very fun. The meal came out absolutely delicious and her instructions couldn’t have been any better. I highly recommend this to anyone willing to try something new.

I recently attended a cooking class to make beef wellington in Boulder. Overall the experience was quite disappointing. I felt that the chefs did most of the cooking and prep work. Most of our experience was watching what they were doing and occasionally being allowed to do some prep work or stir something. Before the class I had jokingly told my date we should save our money and just go to a nice dinner. Shortly after the class started, she told me I was right. That was actually a highlight for me:) The end meal was quite tasty (it should have been as the chefs basically made the entire thing). I was disappointed when the couple next to us took the 2 largest portions and left us with 2 smallest ones. I barely had enough to eat and was lucky my date shared her portion with me. I would never recommend this experience to another person. Perhaps the former Chicago Bull, Bill Wennington, could come in and make his one-time famous burger-beef wellington. That would probably provide a much better experience.

We had so much fun at the Fathers day cooking class. I took my husband because our kids were busy and we had a great time. The instructor was great. Very clean, organized and fun recipes!! Thanks for a great Fathers day surprise.

Booked a sushi making class with my wife as a surprise!
Jared was our instructor and his energy level was maybe a 2/10. The lack of energy and excitement left for a really awkward class because it seemed like all of us were like “ummmm”. It sounded like he was winging it and making stuff up, that’s based off the very little info and instruction he gave.
1. The tempura batter was watery, so it was just deep fried, dry shrimp.

2. Instead of just making a large batch of the tempura shrimp, they had each group go up one at a time using only one pot to fry in.

3. Once the other instructor (who was super helpful) was finished with the rice, we came around to help. He taught us a small, but critical part of making the sushi, by showing us it was shiny side up on the seaweed.

4. Once everyone was finished, Jared had little individual bowls put out that contained the ingredients for the dipping sauce. He breezed over what the ingredients were, then came around to pick up all of the bowls only to put them all together in a pot. It seemed like an unnecessary step to make 24 bowls that you were gonna put in a pot.

5. The rice. It took a LONG time because of the lull in having to wait for everyone to deep fry the shrimp. By the time it was finished, we were hungry and excited to finally be able to dig in… only to find that the rice was crunchy.

6. I get we paid for the experience and time of the chef, but in this case it was just an awkward experience. The other chef did step in and tried to save Jared when he could tell he lost all of us, but it was too late.

For the price, I’m disappointed that the sushi wasn’t even edible with how crunchy the rice was.

I wouldn’t recommend this place.

The sushi class was absolutely awful! For nearly 200 dollars they were missing ingredients, had unripe produce & undercooked rice that we had to use in our sushi! It was so hard and crunchy, it was unedible. When we mentioned it to the teacher he called it “aldente” and then laughed a little because he undercooked 3 sheet pans of rice. The amount of product provided had to be shared between 4 people so you barely got anything you paid for. ABSOLUTELY would NOT take again. We left at 9pm and had to go eat dinner!

We attended the NYE date night cooking class. The class was fun but the food was very disappointing. For $99 pp, we would have expected more. We were given 1 steak to share amongst 4 people -and it was cooked so RARE that it was hardly edible (almost raw in places) the potatoes had so much butter in them that all you could taste was BUTTER-the ratio of butter to potatoes was way off. The chocolate souffle was great however we had to eat it before the main dinner since it came out of the oven and would have deflated if we didn't eat it-very rich dessert to have to eat first. And standing up to eat was not a great way to enjoy the food. Chef Cameron and his staff were nice but he seemed a bit unprepared for the class overall.
We won't be taking another class here unless things really change..
