Bartenders add (or subtract) from ambiance. This was a case of the latter...albeit we came in at the tail end of a night.
Drinks were ok.

This bar is busy, not too busy to ask if you need anything. Friendly atmosphere. They have the best free popcorn, I recommend coming here, I know I will.

It's a good neighborhood bar. It's not going to blow you away with a huge beer list, but they're not trying to do that here. That said, they do have some good selections.

Everyone was friendly and it was a great spot to stop in and grab a quick bite.

Great patio for a summer night. Burgers, drinks, attentive service, not expensive, beautiful and walkable neighborhood. Went on a week night and stayed until the fireflies came out.

I'm from out of town and the owner and locals were very friendly and even complimented my selection of tunes on the jukebox. They just added food and their cook Alfredo is a master chef and you can't beat $3.75 beers and a good game on the TV's. My week stay in Chicago I went back 3 times, I highly recommend this spot.

A great old school neighborhood tavern from back in the early 20’s when it was originally Sullivan’s.
Beer and Whiskey - Stop in have a cold one with John the bartender.

It's a pub with a bar and some real good sandwiches. Or just call it your neighborhood joint. Bartenders all nice, lots of stools at the vintage bar as well as separate barstool tables underneath sports TV's at every angle possible. In good weather, daytime or nighttime the back outdoor patio is divine. But the star of the show is Alfredo's superb sandwiches, French fries second to none and excellent salads with top notch protein add ons. Ok, I'll grant you, not a beer lover's paradise (no Drafts) and the small bottle serving wine minimal at best but it's a great hangout with some excellent food at decent prices. And it's a relic of the past still alive!
