We stopped here on a food tour. We had an old-fashioned and then we ended up staying for a few more drinks. This place is full of history and a speakeasy! We ended up going to a different bar for a little bit and then ended up back at the green door. Tavern for one more before heading home. The bartenders were great. They gave great food recommendations. The service was quick. The drinks were delicious and perfectly poured!

Was hoping to go to Mr.Beef, but as my Irish luck would have it apparently they have been shooting scenes there and have been closed for a few days. As we turned to walk back to our car that was parked a block away, a leprechaun whispered in my ear telling me not to be sad, and that Guinness was on tap inside the corner bar. So my wee lass and I make a quick decision to have a quick lunch here instead. We enjoyed our Guinness, a Corned Beef sandwich, and mushroom Swiss burger.

Visited on a recent Sunday. It wasn’t crowded (which was great) and had a fun eclectic decor. I tried a Bloody Mary and was rather disappointed, and underwhelmed. I asked about the base—store bought and a bit too salty. The accompanying “garden”consisted of a small piece of celery, pickle, and one olive (and the usual lemon/lime that no one really uses). While they did use Tito’s vodka, the $14 price tag wasn’t worth it. The bar service was attentive and warm. I may come back, but not for a bloody.

Just a great neighborhood bar. The servers are attentive and friendly and the food, at least the blackened chicken sandwich and fries, are excellent. My new favorite watering hole.

I recently visited the Green Door Tavern in Chicago, and I have to say it was an incredible experience! The ambiance of this historic spot is cozy and inviting, perfect for a night out with friends or a casual dinner.

A special shoutout to Chef Jorge, whose recommendations were spot on. Every dish was bursting with flavor, and you could tell a lot of care went into the preparation. The food was simply amazing, and I highly recommend trying the specials he suggests.

Also, kudos to Louis the bartender for his extensive knowledge of drink selection. His expertise made the evening even more enjoyable, as he crafted some of the best cocktails I've ever had. If you're looking for a great place with fantastic food and drinks, the Green Door Tavern is definitely worth a visit!

P.S. Highly recommended getting the Brussels Sprouts I would’ve posted a photo but we ate them to fast!
