I met my colleagues here for some food and drink. We loved the place. It's a clean, intimate space with plenty of Irish pub-inspired decor.

I ordered the Proper Pot Pie, which was delicious. It came out quickly, the pastry was crispy, and the chicken and veg filling had good flavor. (Don't forget to add some hot sauce to yours!) I also enjoyed my "Blacksmith" beer.

We will return very soon.

First, the menu changes here weekly, so I would suggest checking their Facebook page to see what is available before you go if you are wanting something in particular.
Some of our favorites dishes are The Damned Irish Taco Atlantic style (fish instead of corned beef), the classic Fish & Chips, and Guinness Stew with Brown Bread.
The parking is a challenge sometimes, but I suggest going around back instead of trying to park up front.
I have been here with both my able-bodied husband and my disabled mother. The ramp is actually okay to navigate with the wheelchair, just slightly narrow. The inside is more difficult to navigate, but people were friendly and made way for me to get her to a seated area.
Seating is crowded and most of the tables are small and high. There are a couple of low tables that are semi private with partitions and my mom loved it. All of it lends itself to the cozy atmosphere.

My husband and I drove from Fort Worth to visit and had a great time! It's a beautiful pub right off of the main square. The beer was cold and their selection great...I recommend the espresso martini😋!! Plus, I got to hold a baby😍.

I recommend starting your Granbury Pub Crawl at The Pub McDonough. The entire staff is so friendly and welcoming. Zach took time to provide information on other bars/restaurants in town.
We did not try the food, but the weekly menu had Irish dishes that looked amazing! We will definitely be returning.

We were extremely disappointed on our visit here.

1. No where did it say online or in reviews that every Monday they do a new menu. This is ALL the food they offer... yup 3 food / appetizers and ice cream. I saw the photos of Irish stew and other dishes and was looking forward to an actual Irish menu. Being Irish and having been to Ireland this was so disappointing.

It would make more sense to have a regular menu with at least 10 staple dishes from Ireland and every Monday offer a new dish for only that week.

2. There are zero signs on where to park. It wasn't too busy at the time, so we parked curb side, but apparently, the owner stated there is more parking in back. And that they have handicap parking in back BUT they are coned off because non handicap people were using them so you have to let them know via going inside the establishment or calling them so someone can come and move cones out of the way for you to park. Super convenient for those handicapped 🤦🏼‍♀️

How about having signs for parking in general and a sign street side stating handicap is in back and those without a handicap license or tag hanging will be towed 🤷🏼‍♀️

If you park out front, you have stairs to climb, and those handicap / in a wheelchair can't get in.

The plus side is why they got 2 stars instead of one....

1. The building inside and out is well decorated. All the Irish photos are great.

2. We had an Irish Margherita, Guinness, Irish coffee, and Irish Old Fashioned. The drinks were good.

The seating is very limited. They don't have real tables. The tables are small patio size except 2 booths. It would be a challenge for 2 people to eat if they served real food and 2 drinks. Also it's very crowded to move around.
The bathroom was nice and clean.

Unless this place changes to have Irish food on a regular basis, I would not come back here and don't expect them to survive that long.

Cool little Irish pub, I saw another review complaining about parking and table sizes. THIS IS A BAR FIRST not a restaurant, ignore that. It was super simple and easy to figure out. Food and service were amazing! Will be back

Love the pub. Four visits and never disappointed! The brews are top notch. If you like stout, try the half and half. My wife usually goes for xxx or ***Light, but now opts for something that celebrates her Celtic heritage. Food is good, Irish tacos and Irish stew, but we are ready for the full kitchen to come on board. Doug and Lisa
