Really fortunate to have had a chance to briefly visit the World Ice Art Championships this month. After years of enjoying the ice artists at Fur Rondy, I was excited to see how it compared. It was amazing! The detail, scale and presentation were pretty incredible.

Families seemed to love the venue as there is entire playground area with ice slides, jungle gyms and even corn hole games.

Ask about discounts, the day I was there the entrance fee was discounted through an Alaska Airlines promotion.

This is a fun family event. The multiple games and slide/sledding options are fantastic. I even saw adults on the slides. They provide sleds with no rental fee....just leave your driver's license. There is an area to warm up your body and
get refreshments. My honest opinion is this established event is low key, friendly, and a great time. We went on a weekend day and week day evening with no crowds to speak of. I'm so happy to have experienced this World Ice Art Championship 2025.

The talent of these artists is unbelievable. I have never in my life seen such remarkable ice sculptures and so many in one place. It is well worth the cost of admission and enduring the freezing temperatures to marvel at this inspiring ice art.

I recommend seeing them during the day and then coming back at night. Just make sure to get your hand stamped if you leave to come back.

They also have a warm up area where you can purchase snacks and hot beverages at very reasonable prices. Highly recommend and must visit if you're in Fairbanks in the winter!

I love it. We have visited it for the last 5 years. Every year, the sculptors do an even better job. There is always a most beautiful and more detailed sculpture than the previous year. It is a great place to visit with family. The slides are great for adults and kiddos.
I had always visited during the first week of March when the temperatures started to raise, which helped the experience to be even more enjoyable.

The sculptures were amazing and there were way more of them than I expected. So much talent and detail went into each design. Definitely try to go during the day and at night to get the full experience. Your ticket is good all day, just get a hand stamp. Definitely worth a visit.

This was our first visit in person we’ve hear about it from friends and seen pictures online but nothing beats seeing the craftsmanship first hand. The small attention to detail was incredible. When walking through the sculptures some pieces were completed while the artists worked on second pieces. Sometimes I had to remind myself they’re starting with large solid blocks and cutting away sections and then reusing those sections back into the sculptures. The event wasn’t just a walkthrough of sculptures being created but also an entire section where you can walk up to carvings and touches them, feeling the curves and edges. But not only that you some were interactive in ways of slides or common yards games like corn hole and put golf. We went during the daylight and returned for festivities lighted up at night. Just stunning and we’re planning on making a return before the competition is over. Just amazing work and well crafted designs.

Can't miss this if you're in the area, absolutely a once in a lifetime experience. The sculptures are so creative and incredibly intricate, and the scale of them in person is breathtaking.

Lots of fun mini games and sledding areas for kids too. Sled rentals are free!
