By far the nicest people we met on vacation. Very hard! Very helpful & incredibly patient. Take at least 3-5 days to visit the park.

Do it online if you can, but if you absolutely can't or have some weird circumstances, they are helpful and understanding. They helped rearrange some of my reservations after the 120 route closed, making one of our old reservations very inconvenient. After a few walks around the parking lot to get cell service and a few conversations, we had things squared away.

Very Poor Service. I had one task to perform at this office -- buy a senior parks pass. The first time I went there they said that the person that could help me was not there; but if I returned at 4 pm, then he would help me then. I returned at 4 pm, and the person blatantly refused to let me purchase a pass. He told me that I had to drive to one of the park entrances. I told him that I did not have a car because I had arrived via Amtrak, and he just laughed and basically told me to go to hell. Not a pleasant experience coming from a park "ranger".

You are much better off reserving online before you come to Yosemite. But if you arrive without a spot or choose to try and stay longer than your reservation you need these guys who will do their best to accommodate you. Bear in mind it may not be possible and it's not their fault. Yosemite is very popular and fills up.

Camp ground reservation office is exactly what you would expect. They are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They may struggle in name spelling, but overall they are highly entertaining and engaging.
