I go here to pick up their huge 8.99 breakfast burritos (enough for 2 people ). They open at 7 am. Their complimentary salsa is spicy and tasty! They have a great meat counter..bring home their fajita mix to cook! This is not a restaurant...to go orders with a full Mexican market and gift shop. One outdoor table. Great tacos as well!

A little slice of Mexico City has appeared in Grass Valley and it is wonderful. Authentic food, authentic leather goods and pottery, authentic artwork, and authentic people. What a joy to shop here and fulfill my South of the border needs and wishes. I walked out with an awesome bag of chips made in-house coupled with a green salsa made in the house—and I’m smiling and sweating just right. Best of luck to El Barrio, although I’m certain the hood will thrive.

I love this little shop. Besides selling Jaritos and snacks that I love, they also have a fresh meat counter. They make delicious quesadillas, Tacos and burritos, as well!

Editor's note: Super inflation is evident everywhere these days, but this store got super expensive! The meat/deli counter has also been abbreviated and inflated in price. This is why I changed my five stars to three. I am also adding new pictures featuring prices.

The staff is extremely friendly.
I also purchase from the market when it isn't the holidays.

Fantastic food. We went in this morning to get a breakfast burrito. We have found that it is hard to find a good breakfast burrito in town that doesn't break the bank. Their breakfast burritos are amazing. From the authentic flavors to being cooked perfectly. We were excited to see so many new options of ingredients to try as well. Our family loves making Mexican food at home but often cannot find the ingredients needed. This store is a new family favorite. Is this cold weather making you daydream about a trip to Mexico? You don’t have to get on a plane to scratch that itch! Okay, okay - there’s no beach and it’s not magically 85 degrees - but there’s *everything* else you need to fulfill your fantasy. The tacos are to.die.for. Seriously, I could eat the carne asada tacos EVERYDAY. Grab a Jarrito to wash them down and you’ll feel like you walked away from the best taco truck in PV. If you’d rather cook (not me) - you can grab raw meat, chicken, or pork out of the deli case and whip up a fiesta in your kitchen. Need spices? Check! Need a gourmet hot sauce you can’t find anywhere else? Check! Need the ingredients for yummy side dishes? Check? How about some fresh Pan Dulce (Mexican sweet breads) for dessert? Check and check! AND, if you’re looking for home decor or gifts - they’ve got that too! Don’t forget a piñata for your kid’s birthday party! The staff are all wonderful, too! 😉

It’s pretty much my man’s new favorite burrito spot.
It’s always busy, but they are fairly fast. Last night I tried their veggie quesadilla, instead of their burrito..SO GOOD!

Great Mexican grocery store and shop. Very friendly staff. We bought a metal cactus and will remember our visit forever!
