Don't work with or hire these guys! The company still hasn't paid for everyone's time over a month ago. They emailed participants AFTER complaints, noting payout can take 20 business days, plus 10 more business days if it is 'busy season'. There are plenty of other groups that make payment immediately!! Don't work with SAGO! If you are a business that needs research done, DO NOT HIRE them, they are cheap and therefore will provide equally cheap low quality feedback!

My opinion matters to me and focus groups pay you for them. I've been doing focus groups with Sago for about 2-3 years. And I think it will stop there. (I'm not talking about their corporate location but the company..)
Here are my reasons why.. They have good studies to offer for participants which come to you through email by filling out a survey and they'll tell you the incentive amount and how it will be given (more on this later). Once that's done it depends how busy they are and IF you qualify, to wait for their secondary survey over the phone to confirm.
For the most part, depending on the topic, it's online Webcam or zoom. Which is neat because you don't have to drive anywhere.
Now here's my problem..
Once you finish your study, you get your incentive. Remember in the beginning when they send that email? The incentive usually is in the form of Sago Focus Group points.
For every 100 points it's is $1. So if you complete your study and the incentive was 3,000 points. That's $300 bucks ! 👏 Amazing. Once you reedem your points you can now select a series of gift card options from Nike, fandango , olive garden , etc. They do have the option for a Virtual Visa Card, and a Physical Visa Card. Redeeming these points in exchange for the PHYSICAL card takes literally 1-2 months. Virtual Visa takes about the same but sometimes less. This is what sucks because you did 1,2 maybe 3 hrs of a study or maybe you did a week study and then you don't get paid until a couple months later ?
Now you contact their support team and ask them where your incentive is and they'll always say the same thing, " it's processing and it takes 20 days, it maybe longer if we're busy " , it's not what they exactly say but it's about the same.
There's been times where I've emailed them to check on my payment after a full month and they do not respond.
This the problem with their Focus Group Wallet, the redeeming of incentive takes way too long.
I'm not sure if its the Researcher that decides if they want to pay in points or in cash, or if it's Sago who authorizes incentives.
If they do offer studies in cash, take them. Because if it's through the points you'll be waiting for a while to get your money.
It's been 2-3 years of the same problem. I was hoping to see a change in their point system but I don't suspect them to change that anytime soon.
So if you made it this far of my review, remember this.
If you take a study, see what type of incentive their offering. Is it points? Or virtual visa ,which is the same thing as points. Or is it cash or check? Take the cash or check cause its a rare gem.
But if you take the points system incentive, you might just need a Tylenol for that headache that comes along with your virtual visa gift card.

I participated in a focus group on 9/25/24. TODAY is 11/14/24. I haven't received my incentive yet. Although it appeared unusual, I was informed the company that processes incentives was backed up approximately 20 says. I checked the "wallet" and it showed processed. I emailed them, to no avail. I emailed the help desk today. They said I did not return the address verification. I never received it. One was emailed to me today. They claim it will take approximately 7 days to receive my incentive. This is unprofessional. If they don't have participants, they don't have clients. As long as they took, they should have sent it overnight.

Payment does take awhile. This is clearly explained and they DO pay! My kids and I have done several focus groups. Fun and insightful discussions were had!

SAGO (which use to be Schlesinger) is a legit company. They've been in business a long time now. They have adopted the "Digital Wallet" route to participant payment. I have never met any other focus group participant that likes this system. Particularly SAGO's implementation of this system. In fact I would say most of us HATE IT! Are you listening SAGO? We HATE this system... You are expected to show up on time which is reasonable. Then you might have to wait 6 weeks or MORE before you are paid. I use to consider SAGO a 5 Star company. They only get 1 Star now because they make us wait so long. I thought the entire point of going to digital payment was to make everything easier for everyone. I guess not for Sago...

The company seems to be scam. I joined a focus group. After 40 days, I receive email that I got paid which was not the case. I emailed them couple of times and they said they made a mistake and they never did it. Awful experience .

Ive done several focus groups in the past and have been paid the same day or within a day or 2.
Its been a few weeks now and my payment still shows ”processing.”
I’ve reached out by email twice and have been completely ignored so Im starting to think this place is a scam or waiting for future clients to book a study to pay out the past participants from other groups. 🤔

Did a one day, 8 hour study over a month ago. I’m still waiting to receive the incentive that I was promised. Emailing their support does nothing. I’ve sent multiple emails only to receive generic responses with no answer. This place used to be legit….not anymore.
If you do a study here, don’t expect to be paid anytime soon or maybe not even at all.
If it’s too good to be true, it probably is. I only have 3 words to tell you if you’re thinking about Participating in a study here.
RUN……RUN AWAY!
